By Jerry O'Brien Proctor, MN Skeeter Estey started the 20 lap WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature from the inside of the fifth row and wasted little time working his way forward to the lead. By the half way mark he had a huge lead as the first segment was caution flag free. Battling for second was Lance Solem, Tom Mackey, Steve Stuart up from the sixth row and Adam Archer who also quickly moved forward from row nine. Hovering just outside the top five was Glen Dammer up from the eighth row as the track proved extremely racy. Estey's huge lead evaporated, however, when Joel Olejincak spun in the fourth turn facing traffic and accelerated off the top of the track out of harms way. |

Officials forged ahead running all the heat races despite no power to the public address system. The power came on in time for the first two feature events but a shower with a couple of laps left in the WISSOTA Late Model feature sent cars sliding off turn one. After a brief delay officials called the event complete. The final three features will be run over the ensuing weeks. |
